I started to notice this back in 2006 when the immigration debate was heating up in Washington. I was getting those annoying email forwards and this time they were of the Lou Dobbsian anti-immigrant variety. The surprising thing to me was that most of them were coming from older family members or acquaintances in the senior citizen set. And since then I've noticed that when I do presentations for civic groups or have observed focus groups on immigration, the older attendees seem to be more hostile. Hello -

Can anyone suggest if there is a way to check the priority date on a I-485 application after an interfile request has been made? I am not sure if a call to the Service Center is the only way, or if there is a form I can submit requesting this information.

The context of my question is this: My original I-485 application was filed based on a LC/I-140 approved by PERM with PD May 2005. But later, as part of backlog elimination, an older LC for me with PD Aug 2004 was cleared and my company's immigration law firm got another I-140 approved based on this earlier LC. They've told me that they contacted USCIS with a request to get my I-485 attached to the older PD. I would like to get this confirmed since a 9 month gap in PDs can easily translate to years more of waiting time.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help out or suggest if I should be doing anything different with getting the PD of my I-485 changed.

Hello,

It has been over two years I got my EAD, and I am also on H1 and my H1 is valid up to May, 2011. Now, if I want to switch to a new employer, I want to know if there are any complications...I read that we can always switch to new employer and can still retain the priority dates. Is it true? What is NOID? Is it possible for the old employer to revoke my I-485? or can they do anything that affects my Green Card status or the legal status in the country?

Hello,

I am on a H1B with company A. I've been offered a job with company B which is currently processing my H1 transfer paperwork. I had accepted the offer letter from company B and had submitted all my papers for H1B transfer.

The starting date in the company B is 20th Nov as per offer letter. Now I had decided to stay back with the company A (by 18th Nov) before joining the company B. Is there any issue by doing so?

I'm looking for PHP or ActionScript work. I'm not a designer in any sense of the word, so I can't do any graphical work. I'm just starting out, so my protfolio is lacking but I have done several full blown CMSs lately. I've never gotten a problem I couldn't solve, I just need to prove myself.

I know this one guy has done this he worked on h1 for 6 years after that he didnt get extension so he changed his status to f1 as full time student ...now he is on f1 visa...so dont worry.

I recently got an RFE for my I 485 Application.

Need to prove my non-immigration status from Nov 29 2007 to Nov 24 2008 .

I have I-797 ( H1-B approval ) for the above mentioned period. But My Last Name in the approval has a typo error ( in place of letter A they misstyped U). My Enployer has opened a Service request to correct the Name in H1 B approval. But he is saying that he never got the corrected approval. Time went by and i applied for H1 ext..i got the H1 extension from Nov 25 2008 to Nov 2011.

So My question is

Is it okay to submit all the documention that was sent to USCIS to correct the name along with the I 797,I-94 for the above mentioned period and explain them that we did not recieved the corrected I-797 ? or not

Please suggest me ..
